Meet The Furry Ts

Barney is the OG of the Furry Ts, he's 13 years old and is a Pugalier (King Charles / Pug cross)

Barney was my dad's dog and his absolute favourite, he could never do any wrong.

He is very much the Dog-Father of the group and if things get out of hand, he'll step in and sort it, Brando-style.

He's a true gentleman, although he weirdly hates Gavin Henson and Dua Lipa and will bark at them if they're on the TV, we don't know why he hates them both so much, but he does!

What can I say about my Cyril? If he were a child I would be constantly being called into school to talk to the headteacher about his behaviour.

He's a 12 year old Beagle and despite people saying he'd calm down he never has and truth be told, I wouldn't want him any other way!

Cyril is incredibly intelligent, he can open doors and plot how to get food you think you've left in a safe place on the kitchen counter and he has a fetish for dishcloths and dusters.

Cyril has an underground fan club of people who love how naughty he is.

He is also incredibly kind and loving and seems to know when you're upset and need a cuddle.

Buddy was also my dad's dog, he's an 11 year old pugalier and he's Disney cute. Every time I look at Buddy I think there's a Disney princess somewhere missing a best friend.

He can also be very naughty, he's easily led by Cyril and very often I'll find them digging up my garden together.

Buddy has an ability to really snuggle on your knee, he also gives really good cuddles and he absolutely loves bananas.

Mabel is the supermodel of the Furry Ts and is a rescue dog. My dad found her wandering the streets, she had no fur on her back, a bald patch around her eye and was just in a real state. She had no chip and the dog warden said she had to be kept for 10 days before she could be rehomed. My dad said that if no-one came forward that me and Lucy would have her. Sure enough 10 days later Mabel became a Trinder.

At first Mabel was scared of everything, she wouldn't go out in the garden for a wee at night unless she could see that she would be allowed back in. She was terrified of men that looked like Zac Dingle, and we couldn't leave her alone around bonfire night. She's better with all those things now, but we still never leave her alone when we think there'll be fireworks going off.

Mabel is the most loving girl and so protective, she'll always sleep near the door so if anyone comes in that shouldn't be there, she can give them what for.

Her favourite thing is playing fetch and our friends will actually borrow her to take her for a walk, because she's so well behaved.

Flo-Flo is the biggest Chihuahua in the world - she's big-boned!

I've never met a dog with such a sweet nature as Flo-Flo, she's mainly blue, but she has little silver bits around her ears, we call her "the dog with the silver lining" and she lives in a world of unicorns and rainbows.

She loves to find her "treasures", which are basically bits of rubbbish she finds in the garden that she proudly carries around.

When Flo-Flo finds a favourite toy she will carry it around with her all the time, she'll put it int he water bowl whilst she has a drink and sleep with it too.

She gives great cuddles and likes "teddy bear cuddles", where she likes to snuggle up to you so you cuddle her like a child cuddles a favourite toy.

Barbara is Flo-Flo's sister, although she is champagne in colour and a lot smaller.

I am Barbara's favourite person in the whole world, it's a longstanding family joke that she hates Lucy and if I go out and leave her with Lucy, she will sit at the window waiting for me (Barbara, not Lucy)

Barbara once got onto Lucy's knee for a cuddle and then tiddled on her, Lucy was livid, I laughed and I swear even Barbara giggled.

Barbara is the smallest, but most kick-ass of the Furry Ts, she will not be intimidated, Cyril once made the mistake of trying to get her to give him a treat she was eating and he got short shrift!

Barbara also loves children, she will happily sit on a child's knee for hours and she even has her own super-fan, a little boy called Oscar who thinks Barbara is magical, he even sends her Christmas cards.

Oh my days, where on earth do I start with Carol-Looli? Carol came to live with us 7 years ago and she is a fabulous Old English Bulldog Diva.

If Carol were a human, she'd be Gemma Collins, she's loud, she's proud, she knows she's a superstar and she causes excitement everywhere she goes. People always seem to want to take photos of Carol when we go out and she loves it.

Carol is a typical bulldog, she's fabulous, stubborn and will only listen to what she wants to hear. She loves a cheese scone

Carol has a bit of arthritis in her hips, so has to have swimming lessons, which she hates, but do her good and when we go for a walk, she goes in her pushchair, she'll walk until she gets tired and then she likes to be pushed around the park so she can greet her fans.

She also recognises the sound of a Teams call and demands to say "hello" to whoever Lucy is talking to and if I'm recording a radio show, she recognises the microphone and gets out her noisiest toy so she can be on the show!

Lucy is her absolute favourite person in the world.

Samantha is one half of the Costa-Cats (nicknamed after the Costa Cons in "Bad Girls")

Samantha is queen of the floofiness, she is just one big ball of fur, her floofiness is next level.

Samantha will tell you is the Queen of everything.

Just like her namesake of Samantha Jones from "Sex and the City", she knows her own mind, she'll allow you to cuddle her on her terms, and she will make it known when that is and you must oblige.

She will also send me and Lucy to coventry if we've been on holiday, she wont acknowledge us for a few days when we get back.

She also sleeps in weird places, her favourite being, around the kettle, in a display of fake flowers and the sink!

The second half of the Costa-Cats, Beverley named after Beverley Callard is just a bundle of purry loveliness.

She's not the brightest of cats and is quite easily led.... her hero is Cyril and she will try and lay as close to him as she can get, as well as grooming him. He just lets her get on with the hero worship.

If you walk anywhere in Bev's vicinity she will purr, I sometimes think when she hears me come in, she just starts to purr.

She loves Dreamies, particularly when she can eat them in bed and she loves to play games with Dolly, even if I think sometimes she's not sure what's going on!

Dame Dolly Dewdrop is the youngest of the Furry Ts  and part of team naughty!

Dolly is a little whirlwind, she is into everything, she wants to play with everything, eat everything and love everyone.

We've had a couple of scrapes, where she's fallen behind the freezer on three occasions, twice, I was able to get her out by removing the skirting board and the third time it was a full on rescue mission which involved the freezer being removed and then we've had to fashion something to stop it happening again.

Dolly loves mushrooms and pasta and will try and take them out the pan whilst I'm cooking, she'll also try and eat a seafood stick out of your mouth.

When we first got her she wasn't litter trained and we had an incident where she shit in the toaster! Don't worry the toaster has been disposed of and a new one wasn't purchased until she'd cracked the litter training, now when she uses the litter she meows in. a sort of "ta-dah" type fashion so you praise her.

When she's tired, she'll come and sit on my chest, nose bump me, lick my face and then sleep.
