Top 5 Summer Reads

I love books, I always have one in my handbag or my Kindle with me. Reading is one of my greatest pleasures and going on holiday, gives me a chance to indulge in it. So just in case you're heading off on holiday, here are my top 5 summer reads.

"Kill for Me, Kill for You" is a stand alone. It's the story fo two strangers, Amanda and Wendy who meet by chance and then realise they have a lot in common. They both desperately want revenge against the two men who have destroyed their families and they think they have a way of helping each other out.

I could not put this book down! It twists, it turns and you won't see the plot coming until it smacks you in the face. If you take this on holiday, send your family and friends off for the day and enjoy in peace!

The book sort of goes back on itself, so someone is already in prison for a murder and law students Charlotte and Femi must work on the case that has been assigned t them by Roderick Tanner QC.

Who knew that belonging to an amateur dramatics society could be so dangerous?

This book really takes you along for the ride and you feel like you are finding things out at the same time as Charlotte and Femi.

I’ve since read Janice Hallett’s other books and loved those too.

I bought this from my favourite book shop in Whitby, because I thoguht it sounded interesting. I finally got around to reading it a few weeks ago and I could not put it down!

Set in New York in a post World War 2 New York, Mob fixer Gabriel Leveson’s is planning to flee the city with some stolen mob money. Meanwhile, Private Investigator Ida Young and her old partner Michael Talbot are investigating the four brutal murders in a Harlem Flophouse, which has left Michael's son fighting for his life on death row.

I didn't realise it was the 3rd in the series of the City Blues Quartet Books, but to be honest it didn't matter and now I'm going back to read the others.

The fourth and for the time being final book in the "Thursday Murder Club" series.

An old friend of The Thursday Murder Club's has been murdered and Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron and Ibrahim must find out what has happened, whilst they deal with forgers, fraudsters and drug dealers, as well as their own personal tragedy.

I am a huge fan of these books, and this one did not disappoint, although my heart ached knowing it would be the last one for a while. I am looking forward to “We Solve Murders” and there’s always the film outing for my favourite super sleuths.

If you loved the others, I know you’ll enjoy this.

When I first booked up this book, I wasn;t sure what to expect, but within the first few pages I was hooked!

Daisy Jones and the Six were one of the biggest bands of the 70's and then without warning, Daisy ups and leaves and everything falls apart. No one has really ever spoken about why, although they all remember it differently. The book looks at why and finally everyone has a chance to have their say.

PS - The TV show is awesome too, read the book and then watch the show!
