After we visited the Marilyn Monroe exhibition, we thought we would re-watch some of her best films. Here's the top 5 Marilyn Monroe films (in our opinion)
Some Like It Hot (1959) – A classic screwball comedy directed by Billy Wilder, where Monroe plays the delightful Sugar Kane, a ukulele player in an all-female band. The film is famous for its humor, Monroe’s performance, and the legendary final line: "Nobody's perfect."
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) – Featuring Monroe as the gold-digging but lovable Lorelei Lee, this musical comedy includes one of her most famous performances: "Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend."
The Seven Year Itch (1955) – This comedy, directed by Billy Wilder, features the iconic scene of Monroe’s white dress blowing up over a subway grate. She plays The Girl, tempting her married neighbor during a hot summer.
Bus Stop (1956) – A departure from her usual comedic roles, Monroe delivers one of her best dramatic performances as a small-town singer pursued by an overzealous cowboy.
How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) – A lighthearted comedy where Monroe, alongside Lauren Bacall and Betty Grable, plays one of three gold-digging women looking for rich husbands.
