I'll be honest, as much as I love Halloween, horror films aren't my thing, "Scream" is about as scary as I get, I'm more of a "Hocus Pocus", "Haunted Mansion" kind of girl.
Apparently these are the top 5 horror films, do you agree?
1. The Exorcist (1973)
Why it’s scary: The realistic depiction of demonic possession and deeply unsettling imagery make this a terrifying experience. It blends religious horror with psychological tension.
2. The Shining (1980)
Why it’s scary: Stanley Kubrick's eerie atmosphere, along with Jack Nicholson’s descent into madness, creates a chilling sense of isolation and psychological horror.
3. Hereditary (2018)
Why it’s scary: This film masterfully combines family trauma with supernatural elements, offering deeply disturbing visuals and moments that leave viewers shaken long after the credits roll.
4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Why it’s scary: Gritty, brutal, and relentless, this slasher horror film feels like a descent into pure chaos and terror, leaving a lasting, raw sense of dread.
5. Halloween (1978)
Why it’s scary: John Carpenter’s minimalist direction and the iconic Michael Myers combine to create a relentless and suspense-filled atmosphere, defining the slasher genre.
