Time you Enjoy Wasting is Not Wasted.

John Lennon famously said, "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted". Well on Saturday, me and my sister Lucy happily enjoyed wasting time.

After a really tough few weeks for both of us for lots of horrible reasons, we took the executive decision that we would have a lazy Saturday, where we would watch films, stay in our pyjamas and eat lots of lovely food.

If I'm honest we chose Saturday 26th October for a couple of reasons, firstly it was a Saturday where we had no plans and secondly it was the day of the Halloween "Strictly Come dancing" special, which is my absolute favourite!

We decided the day would go like this.

  1. Sleep till we are done - the furry Ts were briefed that there was to be no early morning barking or meowing.

  2. We would drink tea and have a lazy morning.

  3. We would have a shower and put on clean and brand new matching Halloween pyjamas.

  4. We would create a snuggle palace on the sofa and watch non-scary Halloween films before "Strictly"

  5. We would create a Sanderson Sisters snack board.

The day started well, there was no early morning barking or meowing, maybe the Furry Ts appreciated a Saturday lie in too.

We had matching Halloween themed pyjamas - I mean, I personally think I've never looked better!

A lot of planning went into preparing our Sanderson Sister's platter - there was a ,lot of chopping (me) and a lot of arranging (Lucy) it was like an episode of "Masterchef" (sort of) but we were pleased with the results, particularly when you consider my other culinary disasters! It's probably not the best thing to serve if you hate cheese or are lactose intolerant, but we do and we aren't.

The afternoon was spent watching "Hocus Pocus 2" (we'd been to see the first one at the cinema earlier in the week) and "The Haunted Mansion" (the new version)

There was a great deal of napping by all of us.

Then in the evening we all watched Halloween "Strictly Come Dancing" and it didn;t disapoint. I think it's the costumes, the fact the show really seems to go to town and embrace the theme. It is genuinely my favourite episode of the whole series.

The whole day was perfect. Me and my sister planned to "waste" the day and when we enjoyed every single second of it. I've started this week feeling better, stronger and rested. Mentally and physically stronger and ready to face the world.

We've decided to plan to waste another day in january.
