I love Halloween, I always decorate my house and one of my favourite things is to watch the Halloween edition of "Strictly Come Dancing", I love it! We always make sure we do something special and this year we are doing a Halloween themed buffet.
So here's my ideas for a Halloween buffet.
Savory Dishes
Mummy Hot Dogs: Wrap hot dogs in crescent roll dough to resemble mummies, leaving spaces for "eyes" (use mustard or olives).
Witch’s Finger Breadsticks: Shape breadsticks like witch fingers, add almonds for nails, and serve with a side of marinara sauce (for "blood").
Stuffed Jack-O'-Lantern Peppers: Carve faces into orange bell peppers, fill them with rice, ground meat, or quinoa, and bake.
Bat Wings: Use chicken wings marinated in a dark soy sauce or BBQ sauce for a "bat wing" effect.
Spider Pizza: Top mini pizzas with olive slices arranged like spiders or a web of stringy mozzarella cheese.
Eyeball Deviled Eggs: Place a green olive slice in the center of deviled eggs and add a red food coloring "vein" for creepy eyes.
Monster Meatballs: Serve meatballs in a rich tomato sauce with mozzarella teeth and olive eyes on toothpicks.
Appetizers & Snacks
Ghost Cheese Balls: Shape cheese balls into small ghost forms and use peppercorns or raisins for eyes.
Spider Dip: Serve guacamole or salsa dip with tortilla chips, and place plastic (or edible) spiders around it for decoration.
Pumpkin Hummus: Serve orange-colored hummus in a hollowed-out mini pumpkin, with veggies or chips arranged around it.
Skull Veggie Platter: Arrange veggies like cauliflower, carrots, and olives in the shape of a skull.
Skeleton Meat Platter: Lay out cold cuts in the shape of a skeleton, using olives for eyes and cheese for bones.
Sweet Treats
Graveyard Dirt Cups: Use chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos for "dirt," and gummy worms. Add gravestone-shaped cookies on top.
Spider Web Brownies: Drizzle white icing in a web pattern on top of brownies and add plastic spiders or edible ones made of chocolate.
Candy Corn Parfaits: Layer orange Jell-O, whipped cream, and yellow custard or pudding for a candy corn-colored parfait.
Ghost Meringues: Make small meringue cookies shaped like ghosts and use chocolate chips for eyes.
Monster Eyeball Donuts: Decorate store-bought donuts with candy eyes, icing, and sprinkles to look like monster eyes.
Bloody Finger Cookies: Shape sugar cookies into fingers, adding an almond for the nail, and dip one end in red-colored jelly or icing for a bloody effect.
Worms in Dirt Cake: Crumble chocolate cake or brownies over gummy worms for a "worms crawling out of the dirt" effect.
Drinks
Witch’s Brew Punch: Create a green punch using lime sherbet, lemon-lime soda, and pineapple juice. Add dry ice for a foggy effect.
Bloody Mary Syringes: Serve Bloody Marys in plastic syringes for a creepy drink experience.
Vampire Punch: Make a dark red punch using cranberry or cherry juice with floating lychee "eyeballs" stuffed with blueberries.
Poison Apple Cocktails: Use dark rum, apple cider, and black food coloring for a sinister-looking cocktail.
Ghost Milkshakes: Vanilla milkshakes with whipped cream, chocolate chip "eyes," and black straws for a ghostly effect.
Decorative Elements
Black Cauldron Serving Bowls: Serve soups, stews, or punch in cauldron-style bowls.
Foggy Presentation: Use dry ice in drinks or around the buffet for a fog effect.
Spiderweb Tablecloths & Fake Spiders: Drape black tablecloths and add fake spider webs with plastic spiders crawling around the food.
